John 1-4

The book of John is full of insightful teachings about eternal life. I especially like the conversation with the woman at the well. chapter 4.

Notice the similarities between the beginning of this book and 1 John.

John chapter 1:
God wanted to live with us, which makes him more approachable

John chapter 2:
I don't have a summary yet, but I think it is neat to think that Jesus used the basins used for ceremonial cleaning for a miracle that helped a marriage celebration.

Jesus is our groom, we are his bride. Anyway, thought that was interesting.

John chapter 3:
Unlike many citizenships you can't buy your way into this one, or earn it by doing something good. You have to be born into it.

Who's your daddy?

John 1
Jesus (The Word) was at the beginning and he came to the earth to bring salvation and truth. John testified about who Jesus was and explained that Jesus baptized by the Holy Spirit.
Because Jesus is referred to as The Word it makes me think that his main purpose to bring the message of God. He is a fulfillment of what was written in the Old Testament. I was going to write “new message” instead of “the message” but changed my mind because it is not a new message. Through out the whole Old Testament God tells us of Jesus and what he brings. When I was a child I saw to parts of the Bible and two Gods, but the more I read and understand there is only one Bible and one God. He is the one who loves us.

To get to know God, you must get to know the words that come from his mouth. Ephesians 5:17
